Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of literary analysis and reflect on what they read to see the relevance of the book's elements to their own lives. Our focus will be on character, setting, theme, connections, language, plot, and other literary elements utilizing the novel The Wednesday Wars.
Learners will read about 70 pages per week, prior to meeting for class: Week 1- Chapters “September”- “November” Week 2- Chapters “December”- “January Week 3- Chapters “February”- “April” Week 4- Chapters “May”- “June”
In Week 3, learners may complete an optional art and poetry activity related to peace signs. (For this activity, learners will need paper or cardstock and art mediums of their choice such as markers, color pencils, paints, etc.)
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
