In this 4-session class, we will read and analyze Alvin Ho: Allergic to the Great Wall, the Forbidden Palace, and Other Tourist Attractions (2014) by Lenore Look. This fourth installment of the hilarious Alvin Ho series finds second grader Alvin, who is afraid of everything, facing his fears as his family travels to China together. The author uses humor to tackle Alvin's fears in a kid-friendly way that beginning and reluctant readers will find engaging.
