Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about the fascinating history of the Titanic. The class will practice their reading comprehension skills by answering questions in the assigned homework about the reading. Additionally, each student will be able to hone their communication skills by discussing each chapter with others during the lessons.
I have been an educator for the last two decades and have homeschooled my three children for the last 9 years. I enjoy learning about and teaching a variety of subjects, yet history is one of my favorites!
Students will be assigned chapters to read at the end of each class. Students should expect to read 2 chapters a day (roughly 6 - 10 pages).
Each student will need a copy of: What Was the Titanic? (audio version is accepted).
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This course will discuss the events of the sinking of the Titanic. It is a very tragic, real-life event, in which many people lost their lives. This may be an upsetting topic for some learners.
Each student will be required to have a copy of What Was the Titanic? by Stephanie Sabol. This book is also available in audiobook.
