In this 8-week online course, students will learn and practice writing book reports.
Class experience
Students will pre read a book of their choice before class begins. This book will be used to write the first book report. For homework, the student will read Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. This book will be used for the second book report. Students will have 4 weeks to read Hatchet.
Students will learn to write a book report through the 5 step writing process.
Lesson 1: What is a book report?
Students will learn the steps of writing a book report. Handouts will be provided...This class is taught in English.
Why hire me to teach your child to write? I am a certified teacher grades pre-k to 6th grade for all subjects. I am also certified in ESL and Special Education from pre k-12th grade. I have many years of experience teaching in a traditional public-school setting, homeschool setting (k-12th), private tutoring, and teaching online. Teaching reading and writing is what I was made to do. I enjoy spending time with children, and very much enjoy helping them find their talents to read and write. We have a lot of fun doing so! I allow children to explore their own creativity while writing, and this has proven to be extremely effective in creating amazing writers. I would be honored to explore the techniques of writing with your child.
Paper Pencils, colored pencils A folder to organize and keep their work safe. Hatchet by Gary Paulsen (this will be sued for a book report) Teacher will provide handouts as an upload and the students will print the out and organize within their folders. You will need to scan ( NO PICTURES or picture files) your child's work and upload it into the classroom so that I may edit it and return it in the same method. I will not accept pictures or picture files.
