Class Experience
In this one-time book club students will review different types of book genres, how to rate a book, self guided questions to ask while reading, and ways to describe a book through book recommendations. Students will also receive two different book tracking worksheets: a wish-list tracker and a book log. The goal of the class is to build upon the love for reading and to help young/ beginner readers to have a deeper connections for the books they choose to read. Students are encouraged to...
Students will improve their understanding of who they are as readers, and how their interaction with a book can help them develop a stronger connection to the books they choose to read. Students will also gain exposure to how to engage with group book club discussions, and how to offer book recommendation to their peers.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
