Class Experience

Learning goals include student improvement in understanding vocabulary in context, the actions of protagonists and antagonists, the genre of realistic fiction, conflicts and turning points leading through a critical climax and resolutions, theme development, character analysis and development as the wonderfully poignant, thoughtful, and unique characters remind us of the premise that it is rare that we ever really know the full back stories of people and all they have experienced and how much kindness, love, friendship, and wisdom each character has to offer others.
For the first mtg., please read to end of page 116, end of chapter 14.
For the second meeting, please read to end of page 240, end of chapter 32.
For the last meeting, please read to end of the novel.

It is known throughout the book that Rodeo and his daughter Coyote are traveling the country in a school bus with no particular route in mind as they deal with the loss of Rodeo's wife and two daughters, who are also Coyote's mother and sisters. So there is an element of grief blended in throughout the context of the novel.
