Learning goals include student improvement in understanding vocabulary in context, the actions of protagonists and antagonists, the genre of realistic fiction, conflicts and turning points leading through a critical climax and resolutions, theme development, character analysis and an ever-growing development of the terms of respect, labels placed on others, disabilities and the dignity that all humans deserve.

We will be using those materials to kick-off discussions and also please read all of part 1, to the end of page 142 before the first class. For the second class please read all of part 2 which starts on page 145 and goes to the end of the novel.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
