Learning goals include student improvement in understanding vocabulary in context, the actions of protagonists and antagonists, the genre of realistic fiction, conflicts and turning points leading through a critical climax and resolutions, theme development, character analysis and an ever-growing development of the terms of respect, labels placed on others, disabilities and the dignity that all humans deserve.

Please go to www.Benmikaelsen.Com and watch his video he made to introduce himself and his novels. Also, explore the Petey Q & A page before on the website before the first class. We will be using those materials to kick-off discussions and also please read all of part 1, to the end of page 142 before the first class. For the second class please read all of part 2 which starts on page 145 and goes to the end of the novel.
