In this class, students will video chat as well as discuss in the Outschool classroom weekly. We will read approximately 20 pages together each class on video chat, and students will read approximately 20 pages of homework each night. Students will learn how to use a graphic organizer to comprehend the story and specifically focus in on the different character relationships. This course will also cover theme and making connections to a story to help comprehend better.
This is one of my absolute favorite books! I have taught this book in the classroom as well as in private tutoring sessions. This is my third reading discussion class on Outschool.
Homework Offered
Students will read approximately 20 pages for homework.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learners will be assessed by discussion questions and a short assessment at the end of the course.Grades Offered
Students will need to purchase the book, Wonder by R.J. Polacio.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This book is about a boy who looks different than his peers and is born with a disability. He is a special needs child, and this book will cover aspects of bullying.
