Class Experience
Join Zoey, Sassafras, Ms. Carol and friends in this exciting, 4 week book club! Each week, we will meet to discuss the 2nd Zoey and Sassafras book Monsters and Mold by Asia Citro! We’ll divide class time between discussing our chapters and having fun playing games! With magical animals, science, mystery, and adventure, Zoey and Sassafras has something for everyone! Students will gain skills in the following areas: - public speaking - taking turns speaking - practicing active listening - sharing thoughts and insights - building vocabulary - knowledge of scientific formula - exploring the characters, settings, and plot
Please read chapters BEFORE class! Chapters 1-3 Chapters 4-6 Chapters 7-9 Chapters 10-13
Students will need a copy of the book Zoey and Sassafras - Monsters and Mold by Asia Citro. The assigned chapters must be read or listened to BEFORE class. Students can use their own books, library books, ebooks, or even listen to the audio books. If listening to the audiobooks, it is highly recommended that student reads independently to develop their own reading comprehension and competency.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
