We will talk about character development and the emotions and feelings of the main characters. Wonder is a powerful book about accepting people for who they are and choosing to be kind to everyone, no matter what their differences. We will be discussing how we can take the messages from this book and apply them to our own lives....
This class is designed to be a book club. Students will study the themes, plot and characters of the novel. Students will be able to summarize chapters in their own words. We will learn what it means to be a good friend and why it's important to be kind to everyone-no matter their differences.
Wonder is a great book for kids (and adults) of all ages. I really love the message of this book and think it is the perfect book for a novel study book club.
Students are asked to read most of the novel on their own. I have broken up the assigned reading to about 50 pages per class. We will read some parts of the book together in class. There are two worksheets to complete.
