As a teacher for 5 years, I have a plethora of knowledge about what is age-appropriate for students in this certain age bracket.
The goal is to read the entire book in a month. It is a short read and only 200 pages. Students will be assigned chapters to read on their own during each session.
A Girl Called Ruthless by Melody Pendlebury
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Special note: This book does deal with topics such as abuse and death. There is nothing explicit or violent.
