Literature-based learning enriches the educational experience. A story-based approach will ignite a love for reading, sharpen language skills, boost critical thinking, and connect learning across disciplines. This class is a self-directed class that allows the learner to oversee their learning. *introduce learners to a new world of historical figures and different eras *present facts about a person's life including what they did and how they made a difference in the world *inspire learners as they read about people who overcame problems, faced obstacles, and criticism, but persevered to succeed *create a project to give a summary of what they learned

*Learners are required to obtain and read the Who Is/Was… series book that they choose. Books can be purchased, checked out from the library, audiobook, etc. *Literature-based learning enriches the educational experience. A story-based approach will ignite a love for reading, sharpen language skills, boost critical thinking, and connect learning across disciplines. *Only one biography will be read each class. If your learner would like to read more than one, they are welcome to register for the class again. I encourage them to read them all! *Note: This is a learner-directed, asynchronous class. This means learners choose the person they’re going to study and work at they’re own pace to complete the coursework. *REFUND POLICY: Once the material has been sent to the learner, there will be NO refunds issued. If your learner changes their mind and wants to choose a different biography, or if they want to read more than one, they are welcome to register for the class again.
