Class experience
US Grade 4 - 7
This book is a wonderful story for kids of all ages. We will do reading on our own before each class, and practice our oral reading skills in class. Learners are not forced to read out loud during class, but are encouraged. During the first half of the class, we will discuss key plot points, our favorite parts, and other memorable moments. We may also do an activity based on the lesson of the week such as a writing activity, brainstorming, using our imaginations, or we may even do role play...
I am an elementary library, art, and music teacher. Before that, I was the producing artistic director of a youth theater, doing musicals with kids and teens for the past 20 years (Matilda is also a Broadway Musical). I am also a freelance teaching artist throughout the NYC and NJ area teaching all ages from kindergarten through graduate students in the arts, writing, history, and literature. In 2018, I received my doctorate in Literary Studies with a musical theater scholarly dissertation.
