Join us for this fun, lively book club! During this 9 week class, we will meet once a week to adventure with Tumtum and Nutmeg, an adorable and unassuming little mouse couple who find themselves in unsought adventures of all kinds! Deep inside the broom cupboard of Rose Cottage, two mice live in great style. TumTum and Nutmeg lead cozy and quiet lives, secretly looking after Arthur and Lucy, the disheveled human children of the cottage, never dreaming that so many exciting adventures will soon find them. But when evil Aunt Ivy, a squeamish schoolteacher named Miss Short, and pirating pond rats threaten the safety of those they hold dear, the courageous couple will stop at nothing to save the day. In three thrilling tales with charming illustrations in every chapter, Tumtum and Nutmeg--along with the valiant efforts of veteran hero General Marchmouse, Ms. Tiptoe's bouncing ballerina army, and a team of caged gerbils--prove that small-size mice can have world-size hearts. A crowd pleaser for boys and girls alike. In this multi-day class, we will meet once weekly for nine weeks to dive deep into the first three story compilation TumTum and Nutmeg - Adventures Beyond Nutmouse Hall by Emily Bearn. This is my favorite book of all time! And that is really saying something! During class time, full participation in class discussion is expected. There is grace for a shy student, of course, but students will be encouraged to dive into the discussion as they acclimate to the group. Each student will have a turn to share their thoughts and ideas. I will have questions and discussion prompts ready each week, should conversation lag. After our discussion time, we will end with a game if time permits! My book clubs are typically highly engaging, highly interactive, very lively! Chapters will be assigned to be read ahead of time, before class. There are 45 chapters in this book, 15 per story. All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, character studies, guessing what happens next, and ending with fun games related to the book. Our last class will be a book party! Snacks are welcome and encouraged! Please read chapters 1-5 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 6-10 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 11-15 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 1-5 BEFORE class!
