includedClass Experience
This class will meet weekly to discuss what students have read outside or our time together. We will use discussion questions and breakout groups to have thorough conversation analyzing themes and literary devices. We will begin each class with a quick summary before getting into the content. Students will be encouraged to share their own thoughts and opinions, so a reading journal might be helpful for them to use and bring to class. My teaching philosophy centers around the growth mindset, so I give every student space and support as needed but the best learning happens when they try it themselves. Thus, most of my "teaching" will be guided discussion rather than explicit instruction unless I see that it is needed.
Learning Goals
Students will read and understand the narrative structure, characters, and themes in The Wild Robot.
They will identify key events and analyze their impact on the plot and character development.
