Class Experience
The Mouse and The Motorcycle is a classic story that’s filled with adventure, laughs, and a wonderful friendship. Ralph the Mouse meets Keith - a boy with an awesome toy motorcycle! Ralph rides the motorcycle around the hotel he lives in, getting in plenty of trouble along the way. We will use this fun book as a vehicle for practicing a variety of skills including summarizing, questioning, predicting, and making connections. This class is taught in English.
Students will strengthen reading comprehension and analysis skills including predicting, questioning, and making connections. Students will learn new vocabulary words and practice using context clues to identify unknown words. Students will discuss plot and story elements. Students will practice communication, cooperation, and leadership skills. Students will have an enjoyable reading experience.
Students will read 3 chapters per week and write down 1-3 brief conversation starters, such as something they wondered while reading or an interesting new vocabulary word they discovered.
