Come adventure with Henry, Jessie, Violet, Benny, Ms. Carol and friends in this exciting, ongoing, once a week book club! Each week, we will travel back in time as we have fun with friends discussing a Boxcar Children book! Books will be read ahead of time, before class. The books are also available as ebooks and audiobooks! All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, playing fun games rand ending with a round of “Would You Rather” questions or another game, all related to the book. Class time is energetic, and fun! Since 1942, generations of readers have delighted in the adventures of Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny Alden―The Boxcar Children®. Resourceful, optimistic, and independent, these four orphaned siblings work together to help each other and their community. Invite your young reader to discover Greenfield and beyond with the first 12 stories in the series, written by author and educator Gertrude Chandler Warner. Featuring wholesome, family-friendly themes and varied locations, every mystery encourages kids to imagine, explore, and grow. This mystery filled, exciting, and easy-to-read series is perfect for emerging or reluctant readers! Books will be read ahead of time, before class. Class time will be divided between discussing the books and playing fun games! This class is designed to be fully interactive and students are expected to be fully engaged. We welcome shy students, and I will do my best to help them feel at home! This class is designed to be fully interactive and students are expected to be fully engaged. If your child does not like to engage with others, this class may not be a suitable class for them. It’s understandable if they need time to get used to a book club, chatty style!
