In this literature class, we will meet once a week for four weeks to discuss “The BFG” by Roald Dahl while building vocabulary, learn about similes and discuss the setting in the story.

Sophie was a lonely orphan, the BFG was a lonely giant. In so many ways they are different, but they are also the same. This is an an unusual pair for sure! Please join me as we read all about giants, snozzcumbers, whizzpoppers, dreams and how to catch them! Each lesson we will learn new vocabulary words, talk about similes, and use different strategies for reading comprehension. Students will be asked to read approximately 10 pages a day outside of class and we will read one or two chapters...
This class is taught in English.

Students will need a copy of “The BFG” by Roald Dahl. They will also need blank paper, lined paper, pencil, and coloring utensils (crayons, markers or colored pencils).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
