1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1-2 hours per week. This is a reading intensive course, and students will be reading an entire book every two weeks between classes (i.e. one full novel every two weeks) at home prior to our class meetings.Class Experience
US Grade 7 - 9
Intermediate Level
If your learner is in love with Historical Fiction, and enjoys interacting and socializing with other book lovers, then this is the class for them! We will be reading well beloved books such as, "The Book Thief," "Fever," and so many more of the most popular young adult Historical Fiction novels from the past few decades. Over the course of the class, we will be reading 14 books in all! The class will meet once every two weeks to give students adequate time to read. Learners will read the novels at home, and come ready to have lively, guided, group discussions with their peers once every other week. Students will have two weeks at home to read each book, so that they will have enough to time to read at home between classes. You will only be charged for the weeks that we meet (so every other week). This is an ongoing class that spans multiple months in which students can join or leave at anytime. Ongoing classes are amazing for book clubs because they allow students the time to really get to know their peers which aids in rich discussion and interaction during class. Students will read the current Historical Fiction young adult novel at home and come to class prepared for discussions and activities related to the assigned reading for that class. To find the correct schedule, scroll down below to the section that meets on your learner's day and time. If your learner is the first one to enroll in any particular section, it may take 24hrs after you enroll them for their schedule to show up. The usual schedule/class order is as follows: Here is our book/class order.
