As a brick-and-mortar teacher for many years, I have taught this book many times. My students know that I am always available for questions and concerns, and I am highly sensitive to these issues.
Students will be reading 4 chapters per week (approximately 100-120 pages), while using discussion questions and activities to support their reading and understanding.
Students will need their own copy of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry (Mildred D. Taylor). Discussion questions and activities will be available on the Google Classroom.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
This book includes issues from United States history. These issues are The Great Depression and racial injustice and prejudice. We will discuss these issues in great depth, and I will be there to answer questions and concerns that the students may have.
