Students will gain skills in the following areas: - public speaking - taking turns speaking - practicing active listening - sharing thoughts and insights - building vocabulary - exploring the characters, settings, and plot

Students will need a copy of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. The assigned chapters must be read or listened to BEFORE class. Students can use their own books, library books, ebooks, or even listen to the audio books. If listening to the audiobooks, it is highly recommended that student reads independently to develop their own reading comprehension and competency.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
