This is a classic book club with a twist. You are doing it with the best-selling award winning author of the book. Not only will your questions be answered, but the insight into the mind of the author are just extra benefits. We will start by discussing the book, as I ask you questions about plot, themes, ideas, contect, but then dive deeper into character development and motivations. We will discuss and do activities on simile and metaphor. We will also learn steps to stop bullying and learn about what bullying is and emotional empathy. This isn't just a wonderful novel. This books has something to teach. We will laugh a great deal. I am a 32 year veteran of the comedy stage. I also have a masters in the art of education, so I know how to run a class to keep everyone involved and engaged. You need no experience to be in this class, but to have read the book. You can also listen free to the audio version on Youtube, check below for the link to the playlist.
Learning Goals
This is important: This is the kindest of discussions. We are having fun and learning, there is no requirement to answer or not answer, but we ask everyone participate with kindness and compassion. This all means that not knowing or answering questions with anything you think and feel is beautiful. If you think it, you can say it, and we will discuss. And every one who joins the class will do the same. We are here to learn and grow, and be who we are.
