What book lover doesn’t dream of magically transporting inside the pages of a storybook! Now, thanks to this delightful series, we can! Join us for this magical book club about the magic of books! During this 9 week class, we will meet to discuss and revel in the mystery and enchantment of book one in the Pages & Co series by Anna James, The Map of Stories! Tilly and Oskar embark on an impromptu trip to the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, in search of an elusive group of bookwanderers called the Archivists, who they believe are the key to restoring the balance and saving the British Underlibrary. Along the way, the friends realize that something strange is happening in the world of bookwandering: books are disappearing, people are forgetting their favorite stories, and stories are trying to drag Tilly into them. With a mysterious set of clues and some surprising new faces, Tilly and Oskar will need the help of some of their dearest fictional friends to be able to solve the mystery . . . and save bookwandering forever. During class time, full participation in class discussion is expected. There is grace for a shy student, of course, but students will be encouraged to dive into the discussion as they acclimate to the group. Each student will have a turn to share their thoughts and ideas. I will have questions and discussion prompts ready each week, should conversation lag. After our discussion time, we will end with a game if time permits! My book clubs are typically highly engaging, highly interactive, very lively! Chapters will be assigned to be read ahead of time, before class. There are 52 chapters in this book. All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, character studies, guessing what happens next, and ending with fun games related to the book. Our last class will be a book party! Snacks are welcome and encouraged! Please read chapters 1-6 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 7-12 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 13-18 BEFORE class! Please read chapters 19-24 BEFORE class!
