In this four week course, students will read the book, Nevermoor, and engage in a literary analysis of the book to expand their reading comprehension.

 Week 1
Lesson 1
Chapters 1-7
In this lesson, students will find a video lesson, reading guide, comprehension questions and a comprehension quiz on the stated chapters. The lesson this week will include a full explanation of the artifact that students will be creating.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Chapters 8-14
In this lesson, students will find a video lesson, reading guide, comprehension questions and a comprehension quiz on the stated chapters.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Chapters 15-21
In this lesson, students will find a video lesson, reading guide, comprehension questions and a comprehension quiz on the stated chapters.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Chapters 22-26
In this lesson, students will find a video lesson, reading guide, comprehension questions and a comprehension quiz on the stated chapters. Students will also share artifacts.
  • Students will: develop critical thinking skills by completing discussion questions practice and expand their reading comprehension skills analyze a text analyze theme, plot, setting, motif, character development, and other literary devices make connections to the modern world explore the fantasy genre
I have a bachelor's degree in history and education and I have been a humanities teacher for seven years in the classroom, teaching novel studies to a variety of learners. I have also run my school's book club and love to foster a love of reading.

The book is considered suitable for students eight and older but does include the following content: Child abuse, terminal illness, animal death, bullying, kidnapping, and exile. If you are wondering if this would be appropriate for your student, please pre-read the book ahead of time or contact me with any questions.
