Class Experience

Meet Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle! She lives in an upside-down house with a kitchen that is always full of freshly baked cookies. She was even married to a pirate once! Best of all, she knows everything there is to know about children.

When Mrs. Burbank is in despair because her children become Thought-You-Saiders, or Mrs. Rogers’ sanity and crockery are threatened as Sharon turns into a Heedless Breaker, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle produces a magical potion that takes care of the problem.

Parents love Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle because she can cure children of any bad habit. Children love her because she’s tons of fun! Students will delight in this well loved, classic story by Betty MacDonald.

During class time, full participation in class discussion is expected. There is grace for a shy student, of course, but students will be encouraged to dive into the discussion as they acclimate to the group. Each student will have a turn to share their thoughts and ideas. I will have questions and discussion prompts ready each week, should conversation lag. After our discussion time, we will end with a game if time permits! My book clubs are typically highly engaging, highly interactive, very lively!

Chapters will be assigned to be read ahead of time, before class. There are 8 chapters in this book. All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, character studies, guessing what happens next, and ending with fun games related to the book! Snacks are welcome and encouraged!
