Book Club: Matilda by Roald Dahl
In this literature class, we will meet once a week for four weeks to discuss Matilda by Roald Dahl while building vocabulary and talking about characterization and what cause and effect are.

Matilda Wormwood is the reader of books. All of the books. She is smart, VERY smart. Some would even call her gifted. Unfortunately, her parents don't see her this way. Matilda's parents think she wastes her time with books and that she should be watching more television. As you can tell, they aren't very pleasant people. This class is taught in English.
Students will we asked to read approximately 10 pages a day outside of class and to complete a couple short assignments as they read. Please read chapters 1-6 (The Reader of Books through The Platinum-Blond Man) before the start of the first class.
Students will need a copy of Matilda by Roald Dahl, paper and pencil for the homework.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
