Matilda Wormwood is the reader of books. All of the books. She is smart, VERY smart. Some would even call her gifted. Unfortunately, her parents don't see her this way. Matilda's parents think she wastes her time with books and that she should be watching more television. As you can tell, they aren't very pleasant people. But, when Matilda starts school she meets a wonderful person who will change her life forever. Each lesson we will learn new vocabulary words, talk about character traits,...
This class is taught in English.
Students will we asked to read approximately 10 pages a day outside of class and to complete a couple short assignments as they read. Please read chapters 1-6 (The Reader of Books through The Platinum-Blond Man) before the start of the first class.
Students will need a copy of Matilda by Roald Dahl, paper and pencil for the homework.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
This book may not be suitable for all readers. It does contain some abuse and neglect against children. Parental discretion is advised.
