This is an English Reading Book Club for students who are developing their love of reading, writing, thinking and sharing their ideas. This class is aimed at beginner readers to broaden their vocabulary, improve recognition of words, develop phonics and handwriting too. Learners will develop their reading fluency, comprehension skills including knowledge of phonics, vocabulary, guessing meaning of words from context, sharing ideas and developing communication skills. Which books will be covered? πΉ Week Beginning 16/09/2024 - Decisions Decisions πΉ Week Beginning 23/09/2024 - King Arthur Needs You πΉ Week Beginning 30/09/2024 - Pit Stop Peril πΉ Week Beginning 07/10/2024 - Revenge of the X-bots πΉ Week Beginning 14/10/2024 - Cyber Bee Break Out πΉ Week Beginning 21/10/2024 - The Quest for the Golden See-Saw πΉ Week Beginning 28/10/2024 - The Greenville Giant πΉ Week Beginning 04/11/2024 - The Deep πΉ Week Beginning 11/11/2024 - Why The Sea Is Salty Further classes will be added. Learners will be encouraged to move to Level 14 after completing these books. We will return to the beginning and repeat these books when we have completed all of them. Each week will include vocabulary, comprehension and input. Learners will be encouraged to share their ideas in a variety of ways in class. Parental Guidance
Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.
Supply List
Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class. All materials will be provided for this course.
