This story takes place during some unspecified war. Because of the war, four children come to live in the old house in the country safe from the air raids. In this house, the children, quite by accident, find a magical wardrobe which opens into the unusual and magical world of Narnia. The children encounter many creatures during their adventure in Narnia. They soon discover that the land is being ruled by the unkind White Witch. The children decide to help the citizens of Narnia.
