This classic book by Roald Dahl (who also wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory among other classics), is a wonderful story for kids of all ages. We will do reading on our own before each class and practice our oral reading skills in class. Children are not forces to read out loud during class, but are encouraged, and asked each time if they would like to. During the first half of the class, we will discuss key plot points, our favorite parts, and other memorable moments. We may also do an activity based on the lesson of the week. There is no assignment before the first class. Please read the following for the subsequent classes: Before meeting 2: read Chapter 1 to the end of Chapter 5. Before meeting 3: read Chapter 6 to the end of Chapter 9. Before meeting 4: read Chapter 10 to the end of Chapter 14. Before meeting 5: read Chapter 15 to the end of Chapter 18. THE END! **You do not need to read before the first class. About the book: "Someone's been stealing from the three meanest farmers around, and they know the identity of the thief—it's Fantastic Mr. Fox! Working alone they could never catch him; but now fat Boggis, squat Bunce, and skinny Bean have joined forces, and they have Mr. Fox and his family surrounded. What they don't know is that they're not dealing with just any fox—Mr. Fox would rather die than surrender. Only the most fantastic plan can save him now."
