Class experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Improve reading skills, develop literary analysis skills, develop discussion skills, develop critical thinking skills
Ms. Rae love's reading. She grew up with a passion for old literature (probably the only 8th Grader in my school reading Agatha Christie novels for fun) and fairytales. One of her favorite classes in college was a study of fairytales and fables. This class was created to help her writing students boost their critical thinking skills while embracing the joys of reading.

This class does not use the class Grimm version of each fairytale. The Fairytales used have modified endings (example: the wolf runs away). While the stories' endings are modified many classic fairytales include discussion of violence (eaten by a wolf), theft (he stole the golden harp), and being mean (she left the children in the woods). By registering for this class you agree that your child is both old enough to understand the difference between fact and fiction, and emotionally mature enough to participate in reading these stories. No refunds will be given for finding a story upsetting. It is the parents responsibility to be familiar with the stories listed if they are concerned about content.

Students under age 7 are welcome to attend but please contact me before registering to confirm that your child is mature enough to participate in class discussion.
