Description
Class Experience
This book group follows Jim Benton's popular series Dear Dumb Diary and is recommended for ages 8-11. We will read a different book every two weeks. This class takes students through books 1-4. We will spend the first week discussing the first half and the second week discussing the second half of each book. Please check the schedule for dates and times of discussions. In addition, students will have the opportunity "teach" other learners by discussing key elements (reading workshop style)....
Students will socialize with one another while learning reading workshop strategies and topics. Students are also provided opportunities to practice vocabulary, writing, grammar, and literacy skills in class.
Optional comprehension or topic related homework.
Students must have a copy of the book, pencil, paper, and any posted printouts for each class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Optional book tests every two weeks.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
