US Grade 2 - 5
Each week we will read a few chapters of Charlotte's Web together in class. I will read aloud to the students and also ask for class volunteers to read. If your student does not want to read aloud, please do not worry! I believe reading should be enjoyable not something to be feared. After we read our chapters, we will have a class discussion of the plot, any funny or interesting passages, and vocabulary words. I also love to take elements from the story and explore them on a deeper level. Following discussion will be our creative time. Each week we will work on a craft centered around content covered in the chapters we read. Because I want students to fall in love with reading, I will be energetic for each session and open to students discussing what makes Charlotte's Web memorable to them.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the author E.B. White and his work Charlotte's Web. Learners will grow in their reading comprehension and word recognition while also exploring their creative side with content appropriate crafts.
