Welcome to Book Buddies, my fun and exciting online book club for young children! I'm passionate about encouraging a love for reading and exploration through the power of books. Each session is a stand-alone lesson that features both beloved children's classics and new reads. I believe that reading is not just about learning new words and stories, but also about building a community of readers who can share their thoughts, ideas and experiences with one another. That's why I've created a space where children can come together and participate in a range of different games, activities and discussions about each book. Book Buddies club is a great way to help your child develop a love for reading and learning. These sessions are designed to be both fun and educational, as children are encouraged to share their opinions, explore new ideas and learn from one another. As a parent, you can join in the fun too! I encourage you to read with your child and participate in the activities and discussions together. My aim is to help you build a strong connection with your child through reading and shared experiences. I'm excited to have you join me at Book Buddies and can't wait to share a love for reading and exploration with you and your child. See you at our next session! Learners can join the class at any point. This is an ongoing course so each class stands alone. We focus on a different theme from the books each week whilst developing comprehension skills, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. Learners can join the class no matter how much of the books they have read. Each week will include a range of teaching activities including reading out loud, discussions about vocabulary and illustrations, drawing characters and setting, Q+A to develop comprehension skills, games and more. Learners will be encouraged to share their ideas in a variety of ways throughout each class. Please do contact me with any questions. I look forward to being part of your child's learning journey! Learning Goals
The learning goals of Book Buddies Book Club are centred around fostering a love for reading, developing language skills and promoting critical thinking. Through carefully selected books, I aim to captivate their imaginations and inspire a lifelong passion for literature. I encourage active participation during reading sessions, allowing children to express their thoughts, ask questions and engage in discussions. By exposing them to diverse stories and characters, I promote empathy and understanding. I also incorporate creative activities that encourage self-expression and spark their imagination. Ultimately, our book club aims to create a fun and enriching environment where young readers can grow and thrive.

Welcome! I'm Teacher Carly. I have a PGCE in Primary Education and a BA in Childhood Studies. I am certified to teach children from 2-11 years including SEND and ESL.
I have taught children for over 15 years primarily in early years and primary school settings in the UK and online platforms.
I have experience with engaging children in their learning including overcoming barriers linked to behaviour and learning English as an additional language. I love teaching Early Years, PreK and Kindergarten children. It's a great privilege to feel that I have been a part in the early stages of their learning journey and it's great to see their smiles each day :)
