All of the selected books were chosen for not only their literary elements but their high-interest level for readers. If a reader does not complete the book prior to class, Mrs. Bombard and the other learners are not responsible for spoilers.Progress Report
Mrs. Bombard can provide you with a progress report for your learner after 4 consecutive weeks of attendance. This is done only at the request of the grown-up enrolling their learner.Certificate of Completion

Does your learner love stories, but struggle to find books that keep them hooked? Or perhaps they’re looking for a place to share their reading adventures with others? Research shows that kids read more (and better) when they’re excited about the books they’re reading. That’s where Book Bonanza comes in! Our weekly book club is designed to ignite your child’s passion for reading while developing their critical thinking and communication skills. We’ll explore a variety of captivating stories hand-selected for learners ages 9-12 (4th, 5th, and 6th grades) that will spark curiosity, creativity, and a love of books. Each session begins with an inspiring quote from the week’s book, setting the tone for lively discussions where your child will dive deep into characters, themes, and plot twists. What we’ll be reading this session: November 30th: Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, by JK Rowling December 7th: Bridge to Terabithia, by Katherine Paterson December 14th: Sounder, by William H. Armstrong December 21st: The Giver, by Lois Lowry December 28th: The Fabulous Zed Watson, by Kevin & Basil Sylvester Why Join? 📚 Fuel Your Child’s Imagination: Explore a wide range of genres and themes to spark creativity and foster a lifelong love of reading. 💬 Interactive Discussions: Your child will engage in lively, meaningful conversations with peers—learning how to share ideas, analyze texts, and think critically. 🧑🤝🧑 A Social Learning Experience: Reading is fun, but discussing books with others makes it even better! Logistics: When: Weekly on Saturdays, starting November 30th, 2024. Ages: 9-12 (4th-6th grade). Format: Choose your preferred reading format: physical copies, eBooks, or audiobooks. Supply List
Learners should have their own copy of the book that we will be reading each week. These books can all be found at a local library. Please reach out to your library ahead of time. If they do not have a book, most libraries will order that book for you.

Tegan holds two Master's degrees: one in Literacy Education and another in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Known for her innovative and hands-on teaching style, Tegan believes in making learning fun and accessible.
