In this fun session, we will enjoy a cute story and then bake a yummy treat! Parents, please be available to help your child with the baking part of the session as needed (using appliances-oven, mixer, etc.). We will begin the class by reading a fun story- "The Little Red Hen" by Carol Ottolenghi. Then, we will move on to making a fun treat- banana bread (not nuts)! Recipe: 3 ripe bananas - peeled (about 1 cup) - It is best to use ripe bananas for banana nut bread. 1/3 cup unsalted butter - melted 2/3 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs - beaten 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup sour cream 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp salt pinch ground nutmeg 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour loaf pan oven whisk (If you do not have a whisk, you can use a fork.) fork oil spray or grease to grease your loaf pan mixing bowl spatula Craft supplies: coffee filter or flat white paper plate (depending on how big you want your hen to be) red paint yellow construction paper- cut a triangle out for the beak, cut two strips of yellow construction paper of legs googly eyes glue
