Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
By the end of the class, your learner will have a deeper knowledge of the Filipino culture before any colonization. Your learner will have practiced ancient Filipino writing and have created simple pottery with clay without the use of complicated tools or techniques.
I have been teaching Tagalog as a foreign language for 3 years and English as a second language for nearly 7 years, to children from age 5 to 12 years old. As my learners study languages, I also teach them about the culture and introduce them to the food, traditions and history to help them fully immerse themselves in the language they are learning. All my lessons are created with other teachers who are in Early Childhood Education. As a Private Tutor and Behavior Therapist for nearly 7 years, I have used art making as a way to help cater to each child's learning needs and skills.

(Ancient Filipino Writing) *Watercolor paint ( have at least 3 colors available) *Watercolor Paper ( either 5x7 or 8x11 inches) *1 Paintbrush (Small to Medium in size) *2 cups of water (one for cleaning the brush, one for wetting the paper )
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be reading "Diwayen, Before the Spanish Came" by Augie Rivera (Author), illustrated by Paolo Lim, published by Adarna Publishing House. You may also find the book from BuriBooks.com.
