Class Experience
Have you ever wanted to make your own haunted attraction for your neighborhood, church, or school? In this fun multi-day club, we will discuss everything needed to take your haunted house from "Ew!" to "Boo!" in no time at all. My goal in this class is collaborative; I want to help students brainstorm and develop ideas that excite them, while keeping realistic goals for what's achievable. This class is taught in English.
Students will learn how to create and manage their own haunted attraction.
I have created over a dozen haunts for elementary and middle school kids as part of school festivals, after school programs and fundraisers. I have worked as an actor in a professional haunt in Virginia for the last three years.
Between each class, students will be asked to develop ideas discussed in the current session and brainstorm ideas for the next one. This homework will be largely informal and optional.
The supplies list is ultimately up to the haunt creator! We'll discuss both how to make your own masks and props as well as places to buy quality ones, if you prefer.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learners will be assessed through in-class discussion.
5 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
All ideas discussed in this course will be more spooky than scary.
