Have you ever wanted to make your own haunted attraction for your neighborhood, church, or school? This class is taught in English.
Students will learn how to create and manage their own haunted attraction.
I have created over a dozen haunts for elementary and middle school kids as part of school festivals, after school programs and fundraisers. I have worked as an actor in a professional haunt in Virginia for the last three years.
Between each class, students will be asked to develop ideas discussed in the current session and brainstorm ideas for the next one. This homework will be largely informal and optional.
The supplies list is ultimately up to the haunt creator! We'll discuss both how to make your own masks and props as well as places to buy quality ones, if you prefer.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learners will be assessed through in-class discussion.
5 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
All ideas discussed in this course will be more spooky than scary.
I will make students aware of some resources for various aspects of creating their haunted house, including the following websites: https://www.spirithalloween.com/ (masks and props) www.mostlydead.com (masks) www.freesound.org (sound effects) https://www.audacityteam.org/ (sound editing software)
