Class experience
In this one time class, students will speak in French as they countdown to the New Year. Students will learn how to say Happy New Year and additional New Year vocabulary while they color a scene. As students color with the teacher, they will say the colors in French and describe the picture in French. Students will also write their New Year goals in French with the teacher guidance. Bonjour! I am Madame Heather and I am a licensed French teacher for ages preK-12. I have 14 years teaching experience in the classroom and over 4 years teaching experience online. I have a BA in French, an MA in Sociolinguitics, and I have lived in the south of France where I taught ESL. I am an engaging teacher who focuses first on making the student feel comfortable learning a new language in a natural way. I believe learning a language should be fun and I also like to use manipulatives to keep students moving during class. I look forward to helping your student expand their interest in francophone culture and language.
2 files available upon enrollmentPlease have students bring coloring utensils (black, yellow, and gray/silver), a pencil, and the sheets sent by the teacher prior to class. The teacher will also provide a list of the vocabulary words used in class so students may practice their new words after class is over. Prior to class, please have a band of paper measured to your child's head pre cut but not glued yet. We will write on it in class. They may bring glue or a glue stick to complete their hat after we color and write on it in class.
