Class Experience

(Club for Rainbow High Collectors and enthusiasts)

Let's get BOLD! This social club is time for learners to get together with other friends who love Rainbow High! Hangout, meet new friends, share about your Rainbow High - fashion, accessories, scenes. I will be overseeing the time, but much of club time will be learner led. Learners will help decide which challenge Rainbow High and Shadow High students face, what Rainbow High Songs we dance to, and crafts we make to bring your Rainbow High to the next level!

You already probably love adding to the series, your own scenarios, this is your opportunity to include more friends in creating scenes and solving life's problems. Build confidence, celebrate diversity and uniqueness - we are all unique and different like the colors of the rainbow and the characters at Rainbow and Shadow High!

Session topic will be learner directed under my supervision, supplies they need can usually be found around the house such as Rainbow High / Shadow High dolls they might want to share during club, accessories they choose to bring to club, they may choose to use camera from phone/ tablet or i-pad or other digital device to share pictures with the club or on club page.

**Week one learners will share about their favorite RH / SH student and why they are their favorite. If you could - would you want to be one of the characters or create your own. What color would you be? What would your focus be? In week one - the club will need to come up with rules for the group, so all that come to club have fun and feel welcome!

Remember: You don't have to be perfect to be amazing!

Parental Guidance
Always feel free to contact with concerns, questions or needs you would like me to be aware of concerning your student. This social club will focus on allowing learners a positive environment to enjoy their favorite characters from RH/ SH. It is primarily led by learners, I will offer guidance as needed and some directed activities as well. Learners are already role playing and creating scenes with their character, why not offer a little guidance to help include some character building and problem solving for learners. I hope your learners have as much fun as my learners do with their RH/ SH!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from State University of New York College at Brockport
Associate's Degree from Salvation Army School for Officer Training
I have two tweens that are Rainbow High / Shadow High Experts!

I have over 20 years of experience working with children and teens in a variety of settings - camps, afterschool programs, and school. Camp and afterschool programs offer different ways to encourage character development including through use of clubs. These clubs are based around camper interests and simply allow kids/ teens to have fun while sharing common interests. Most of the clubs I've helped lead also included crafts. I helped lead teen groups where talk sheets were used to help facilitate discussion on relevant topics, helping them think through real challenges and look at solutions from different angles by sharing and hearing from peers as well. I was a youth leader and then corps officer with the Salvation Army, my degree included training in counseling. I have led groups for children, teens and women. I've made many friends and had good times doing so.
