Learners will learn the basic goals of equine body work, including how stress and relaxation are expressed in the body. We will also learn about the importance of making sure the horse is interested in being touched, as well as how to keep awareness of our own body language when we make contact with the horses. As we explore the basic theories, students will learn 4 very simple touch techniques, and make cards for reference and memory!
Learning Goals
- Students will be able to identify stress and relaxation signs in horses' body language.
- Students will know how to ask permission to touch a horse, and thus as read whether or not the horse is interested in touch/body work.
- Students will be able to offer a relaxation response in themselves.
- Students will understanding the basic goals of equine body work.
- Students will create cards for 4 simple touch techniques to offer horses they work with or ride.

Students will need four (4) 3x5 cards or similarly sized pieces of paper Students will need something to write with, or colored pencils
