In this PRIVATE, one-time course, students learn about "R" controlled vowels. Students will learn to identify and pronounce the "R" controlled vowel sounds. (ar, er, ir, or, ur).
Class experience
In this one-time course, students will learn the Controlled "R" vowels. (ar, er, ir, or, ur) This can sometimes be difficult for students to learn because they usually have already learned the short and long vowel sounds. The students will see the sounds each vowel makes without "Bossy R" (long and short sounds) then when "Bossy R" comes along, the vowels make a totally NEW sound! Students will identify the 5 vowels (a, e, i, o, u) Students will learn the short and long vowel sounds. Students will learn the phonics sound of all 5 controlled "R" vowel blends. (ar, er, ir, or, ur) Students will be able to fill in the blanks of words that contain the "R" controlled vowel blends. Students will learn vocabulary words that contain the r blends.
