Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner Level
This class is a continuation of my other Bluey Social Group, meant for students who have already learned the structure of that course and would like to keep discussing Bluey with their peers. In this class we will practice social talk and turn taking in conversations. For young children it is important to provide them chances were they are able to talk about a subject that is of interest to them. Students will be able to converse with one and other about the children's cartoon show Bluey. I will be providing direct instruction to students about how we take turns and wait until other people are done speaking before we begin speaking. While some times during this practice I will have students leading the conversation, other times I will lead it to make sure everyone has a chance to speak to the group if they want to.

I will also be providing trivia questions for students which they can answer on their own or practice talking to each other to figure out the answer. Parts of this course will also serve as reading practice for young learners, they will be able to practice reading questions, and I will be providing some basic skills practice for decoding words.

At the end of each session optional homework will be provided in the form of a questions students will be asked to draw an answer to, they will then be given an chance to share their drawing and answers the group during the beginning of our next group meeting. If students prefer to just answer the question that is also accepted as this is an optional task for this course.
Learning Goals
Students will continue to grow their confidence with speaking to their peers.
