Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will be able to improvise in the right hand using the major blues scale. Students will be able to play a simple left hand pattern.
I have a bachelor's degree in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia, a master’s degree of Kodály in Music Education from Loyola University Maryland, and over a decade experience of Blues/Boogie Woogie improvisation on the piano. I'm incredibly passionate about passing on what I've learned about piano improvisation to students, as I wish I had more access to high quality improvisation instruction when I was younger.
1-2 hours of practice is recommended per week.
Students will need a keyboard or a piano. It is recommended to point the camera at the keys if possible. Optional: The teacher uses the iReal Pro App throughout lessons. Students are welcome to purchase it for use at home, but it is not a requirement for the course. https://www.irealpro.com/ Purchase is available through Google Play(Android), or the App Store (iPhone, iPad, Mac). Cost: $14.99 ($5 in-app purchase for blues package.)
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
