I teach study skills, note-taking, as well as homework assistance and ways to motivate and attack the mission. If your child needs guidance on reading, math, study skills, motivation, organization or just needs one-on- one academic work, these sessions are perfect. I can use materials that the student brings to complete or prepare materials if there is a specific content goal you have in mind such as increasing multiplication skills or reading lexile level. -Students will feel more confident in their abilities. -Students will complete homework. - Students will learn new academic skill areas. -Students will learn note-taking and writing tips to help the hesitant writer or advanced writer, -Students will learn ways to think critically about the academic work they are completing. - Students will learn to recognize patterns. (IQ tests measure pattern recognition, not academic level specifically). - Students will have appropriate productive struggle time and learn to extend the time they spend before giving up on a concept. -Students will learn to associate their academic work with real- world concepts and make connections as to why they are completing different tasks. - Students will learn the benefits of not giving up and the joy in being successful at tasks.
