Description
Class Experience
Learners will be able to retell stories including key details to demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson. Learners will be able to state how readers use the main idea and key details to find important parts in a story.
No homework will be assigned for this class. For extra practice outside of class, learners can use their own books at home to find the main idea and key details. Learners can practice these questions for about 10-15 minutes. For example: -What is the title mostly about? -What do you think is the next important key detail and why?

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
There will be a checklist of asking and answering questions for students with teacher feedback. Learners will provide their responses by either writing or drawing.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental Guidance for Google classroom and google slides to support learners throughout the lesson. Please set up a google email address to access learning materials for google classroom and google slides.
We will refer to Google slides and the classroom for reading the story and answering questions.
