US Grade 2 - 5
In this class we will explore the geography, history and culture of this tiny Himalayan country which for a long time was forbidden to outsiders. Even today, there is a limit to how many tourists can enter the beautiful country and the environment and happiness of the people is still prioritised over modernisation and economic growth. We will explore the famous sights of Bhutan such as the Tiger Nest Monastery and the wildlife that thrives in its pristine forests such as the critically endangered tiger. We will discover the national sport and favourite pastime of the people there as well as look at the royal family and how they balance tradition with modernisation. Learners will have a chance to watch a beautiful video on the country and to draw/write about what they like about this very unique country.
