In this class we will review letter names/sounds at the very beginning. We will then transition into blending sounds together to read words. Your child will be guided on how to blend the sounds to read a word, blend the sounds together with the teacher, and then blend the sounds together on their own. From there we will move onto blending sounds together to read words in a sentence to end class. This class is all about building confidence in letter sounds and using our sound knowledge to read words. Students should come to class knowing majority of their letters and sounds.

Students will come out feeling more confident in blending sounds together to read the words provided in class.

Hello There! :)
My name is Jennifer McKenzie. I am a PK-3rd grade licensed teacher. I also have my K-12 Reading Endorsement. I have taught in a public school district 3 years, a private school 1 year, and am teaching kindergarten in a county school currently.
The classes I will teach will focus around math, phonics, and reading. In my class I will teach using the "I do, We do, You do" model. I believe that learning needs to be active and hands-on.
