Blast Off to Space Camp

In this fun filled five day camp, we will journey through space and investigate the sun, moon, planets, stars, comets, meteors, asteroids, and astronauts. Learners will be engaged in reading, sharing, singing and crafting.

Class experience

Learners will practice their social skills by talking with friends and taking turns listening and speaking.
Learners will practice counting skills and one to one correspondence.
Learners will practice singing and rhyming.
Learners will practice recognizing the letters "s", "m", "p", "c", "a" and the sound that goes with s, m, p, c, a. This builds knowledge of phonics.
Learners will practice their creativity and fine motor skills by drawing and crafting. 
 5 files available upon enrollment
Optional Coloring Sheets provided in the class files. Learners may want to bring their favorite space toys to camp. Learners will need art supplies, such as paper, crayons, markers, paint. If the learner does not want to make a craft, they are welcome to draw or paint pictures! Craft supplies needed are: Paper towel/toilet paper rolls Paper plates Streamers or Pipe Cleaners Construction paper Clay or play dough Scissors, glue, or a stapler Box lid or poster board Clear plastic bottle Star confetti or glitter Blue and/or purple food coloring Mineral or Baby Oil
Learners will need the help of an adult or an older learner when cutting. Learners should be supervised. If you are allergic to play dough, you will need to use clay or make you own.
A safe recipe: 
1 cup cornstarch
1 lb baking soda
1 cup water
1/8 tsp oil
Food coloring
