In this one-time class, students will find items in their homes and we will link these "everyday" items to facts about people, places, and events in celebration of Black history and culture.

During our time together, your learners will participate in an indoor scavenger hunt. Who says learning history can't be a fun adventure? Each item to be found during the hunt will link to a fact, person, or event in history. As your learners gather their items, we will discuss the contribution of these great leaders and the impact of these moments in time. I will share short video clips, photos, or readings to enhance these connections. Learners will have an opportunity to ask questions and...
Students will be able to list at least 5 new facts Students will be to make connections between "everyday" items and how they can trigger learning and memories.
I will provide attachments to the classroom for learners to enjoy after class just for fun.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will share age-appropriate photos, video clips, and/or readings with learners to illuminate their experience. This experience is designed to blend learning and fun.
