In this class, we will have fun listening to stories that celebrate Black History Month! Students will have the opportunity to learn about some of the amazing accomplishments African American people had throughout the years. At the end of each story, students will be encouraged to share what they liked and what they learned with the group. During class, we will read 2-3 stories, depending on how much discussion we have between books. The books include: Before She was Harriet by Lesa Cline-Ransome, Hidden Figures: The True Story of Four Black Women and the Space Race by Margot Lee Shetterly, and Born to Swing: Lil Hardin Armstrong’s Life in Jazz by Mara Rockliff
